31st Paeroa Highland Games & Tattoo Programme

This year we have hugely increased the size of our variety stage, with Marian Burns & McSweeney Brothers, Too Many Chiefs, Sarah Spicer & The Blue Riders, Charlotte Yates are playing there during the day.

All events continue throughout the day (unless stated). During the day visit the Clans’ area to purchase Scottish souvenirs, check out your Genealogy, try Scottish food, and see the wonderful Highland cattle. Children’s entertainment is running throughout the day including Stilt Walkers, Mythical Creatures and the ever-popular Jiggle The Clown. Our new Highland Bar located next to the grandstand, with a great view of the main arena.

9.00am onwards O’Hagan Vision Care Paeroa – Solo Piping Competition near Band Rotunda, eastern end of Domain.
9.00am onwards Highland Dancing Competition, western end of Domain by Fire Station.
10.00am onwards H.G Leach – Axemen’s Chopping Carnival, by Netball Courts.
9.00am Paeroa Lions – Junior (Kids) Highland Games, Western Side of the Domain.
9.30am onwards Directline Freight – Heavyweight Field Events, Main Arena. See the strong guys Toss the Caber and throw the big weights.
10.30am Clans March inside the domain Followed by the Opening Ceremony of the 31st Paeroa Highland Games & Tattoo is to take place in front of the Grandstand. It will commence with the singing of the New Zealand the unofficial Scottish anthem “Flower of Scotland”.
11.00am – 5.00pm Various Performers including Marian Burns & McSweeney Brothers,
Too Many Chiefs, Sarah Spicer, Charlotte Yates.

12 Noon onwards Hauraki District Council – Pipe Bands Contest, adjacent to Band rotunda. Hear and see top Pipe Bands competing in their Sets & Medleys.
4.30pm SteamPunk Tartan, Variety Stage
5.30pm Street March, New route for the Street March ending with all of the Bands marching all the way into the Domain and through the castle.
6.00 to 9.00pm Evening Tattoo – 3 hour family spectacular! This years special guests are the Marian Burns & McSweeney Brothers, Too Many Chiefs, Sarah Spicer & The Blue Riders. We have 12 Pipe Bands taking part in this years Evening Tattoo, as well as the heaving weight event like the Caber Toss and Farmers Walk.
