The programme for the 26th Paeroa Highland Games will be announced shortly, below is the programme from the 25th games to give you an idea of what to expect.

25th Paeroa Highland Games & Tattoo Programme

All events continue throughout the day (unless stated). During the day visit the Clans’ area to purchase Scottish souvenirs, check out your Genealogy, try Scottish food, and see the wonderful Highland cattle. Children’s rides available throughout the day, Highland Bar located in Clans’ Village. St Johns First Aid Team on site throughout the day.

9.00am onwards Solo Piping Competition “O’Hagan Vision Care Paeroa” near Band Rotunda, eastern end of Domain.
9.00am onwards Highland Dancing Competition, western end of Domain by Fire Station.
9.00am onwards Axemen’s Chopping Carnival, by Netball Courts.
9.00am Solo Drumming Competition, under trees near Band Rotunda.
9.30am onwards Heavyweight Field Events, Main Arena. See the strong guys Toss the Caber and throw the big weights.
11.00am onwards Clans March to Town Centre led by Pipes & Drums of Thames Valley.
12 Noon onwards Pipe Bands Contest, adjacent to Band rotunda. Hear and see top Pipe Bands competing in their Sets & Medleys.
12.30pm The Opening Ceremony of the 25th Paeroa Highland Games & Tattoo is to take place in front of the Grandstand. It will commence with the singing of both the New Zealand and Australian National Anthems along with the unofficial Scottish anthem “Flower of Scotland”. The Mayor of the Hauraki District Council, Mr John Tregidga MNZM JP, will then give a short address.
1.00pm Tartan in the Park: Mini Tartans (7yrs & Under), Main Arena.
4.00pm Tartan in the Park: 8 -15yrs, 16yrs & over, Main Arena.
5.00pm Axemen’s Relay, Main Arena.
5.15pm Street March, Bands will march from Liquor King, Normanby Road, to the Domain.
6.15 to 9.00pm approximately Evening Tattoo – 2 3/4 hour family spectacular!
